Description

A pale driftwood branch curves from the floor in a wide crescent, arching up behind your desk chair and overhead, where a deep conical mushroom cap hangs directly above your workspace. Warm golden light fans through hundreds of hand-carved gill lines, casting a full sunburst of amber rays down across your desk, your laptop, your books, and the coffee cup beside your keyboard. The crescent stem frames your seated silhouette like a natural arch, turning an ordinary desk corner into something that belongs in an architecture magazine.

Crescent Arc Driftwood Stem

The stem is a single piece of naturally curved driftwood that follows a wide C-shaped crescent from the base up, over, and forward. The curve is smooth and continuous with no sharp bends or kinks. The driftwood surface is stripped of bark by years of natural weathering, revealing pale grey-silver heartwood with long grain lines, branch scars, and knot stubs along its length. The crescent shape means the stem starts nearly vertical at the base, sweeps backward and upward through the highest point of the arc, then curves forward and downward to where the cap hangs. Finding a piece of driftwood with this complete, unbroken crescent curve is the rarest sourcing challenge in the entire mushroom lamp collection. Each stem is selected over weeks of searching.

Deep Conical Cap with Gill Glow

The cap is shaped as a deep cone rather than a shallow dome, hanging face-down at the end of the arc. The depth of the cone creates a natural reflector that concentrates the gill glow into a focused downward pool of light. Hundreds of hand-carved gill lines radiate from the center outward to the flared rim. The LED strip inside shines through each carved channel, projecting warm 2700K rays in a tight, intense sunburst directly onto the desk surface below. The polished outer surface shows warm amber grain with flowing patterns and natural knots that catch reflected light from the room. Dimmable from full task lighting for focused work to a low ambient glow for late-night atmosphere.

Overhead Positioning

The crescent arc places the cap directly above a seated person's workspace, between 24 and 30 inches above the desk surface depending on lamp size. This is the same height as a ceiling pendant light but without any ceiling installation, wiring, or landlord permission. The light falls straight down, eliminating the shadows that side-positioned floor lamps create. Your hands, your keyboard, and your notebook are evenly lit from above.

Live Edge Slab Base

The base is a thick, irregular slab of natural wood with the live edge left intact. It sits on the floor behind or beside the desk chair. The slab is heavy and wide, providing the counterweight needed to balance the long crescent arc and the cap hanging at its far end. The organic shape of the slab complements the driftwood stem above it. A felt pad protects the floor. The braided cloth cord exits from the base and runs along the floor to the nearest outlet.

Placement

Built for a home office desk, a writer's table, a studio workspace, a reading corner, or a drafting table. The overhead light replaces a ceiling fixture or a desk lamp without any installation. Also works beside a dining table, a piano, or an artist's easel where focused overhead light is needed. The crescent silhouette makes it a sculptural statement piece in any room, on or off.

Care

Wipe the polished cap with a slightly damp cloth. Reapply wood oil once a year. Dust the driftwood arc with a soft dry brush. Check the base position periodically to ensure the lamp is balanced. LED components need no maintenance. Avoid excessive moisture.

Handcrafted by Vietnamese artisans. The crescent driftwood is sourced from naturally fallen wood and selected over weeks for its complete C-curve, structural strength, and visual balance. Every gill line on the cap is carved individually. No molds. No CNC machines. No two lamps will ever look the same.

Care & Maintenance

Furniture Placement

Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.

Cleaning & Upkeep

Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.

Weight Capacity & Use

Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.

Preventing Mold & Mildew

Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.
