Description

A tree trunk stands in the corner of your living room with its bark still on, rough and ridged and cracked, exactly as it looked in the forest. Two golden mushroom caps grow from its branches at different heights, their hand-carved gills casting overlapping fans of warm amber light across the hardwood floor, the bookshelf, and the bouclé chair beside it. The bark catches the warm glow on its rough surface, every ridge and crack throwing tiny shadows. It looks like a piece of forest that walked indoors and decided to stay.

Bark-On Tree Trunk

The trunk is a full section of solid tree with the bark left intact. The bark surface carries every mark from its years of outdoor growth: vertical ridges, deep cracks, lichen scars, knot bumps, and the rough, fibrous texture that forms on a living tree. The bark is cleaned to remove loose debris, treated against insects, and sealed with a clear protective coat that locks the surface in place without altering its color or texture. Beneath the bark, the solid heartwood provides structural strength. The trunk is kiln-dried from the inside to stabilize the wood while preserving the bark shell.

Two natural branch stubs extend from the trunk at different heights and on opposite sides. The upper branch reaches left and slightly upward. The lower branch reaches right and slightly downward. Both branches are part of the original tree, cut to short stubs that support the mushroom caps.

Two Gill Glow Caps at Different Heights

The upper cap sits on the top branch stub, spreading wide above the trunk. The lower cap sits on the lower branch stub, angled outward toward the seating area. Both caps are carved from solid wood, polished to a warm golden satin that contrasts sharply with the dark, rough bark below. The polished caps against the raw bark create the central visual tension of the lamp: refined and wild, carved and found, golden and grey-brown.

Underneath both caps, hundreds of tight gill lines are carved by hand from the center outward to the rim. Built-in LED strips in each cap project warm light through the carved channels. The upper cap casts a wide ambient glow across the room. The lower cap casts a focused, closer pool of reading light onto the chair beside it. Both caps are dimmable independently.

The gill carving on these caps is among the densest in the collection. The lines are tight, even, and deep, creating thick, visible golden rays that fan outward in full sunburst patterns. When both caps are on at full brightness, the overlapping ray patterns create a layered light effect on the floor and walls.

Cross-Cut Disc Base

The base is a thick cross-cut section of the same tree, with the bark ring left intact around the perimeter. Growth rings are visible on the flat top surface, radiating from the center. The bark edge of the base matches the bark of the trunk above, tying the entire lamp together as one continuous piece of tree. The base is heavy and stable. A felt pad protects the floor.

Placement

Built for a living room beside an armchair or sofa, a cabin or mountain home, a rustic-modern apartment, a home library, or a boutique hotel lobby with a nature theme. The bark trunk brings raw forest texture indoors while the polished gill glow caps provide functional room lighting. Works in Scandinavian, hygge, cottagecore, rustic modern, and cabin-style interiors.

Care

Wipe polished caps with a slightly damp cloth. Reapply wood oil on caps once a year. Dust bark trunk with a soft dry brush. The bark may shed tiny particles during the first few weeks indoors, which is normal. After initial settling, the sealed bark surface is stable. LED components need no maintenance. Avoid excessive moisture.

Handcrafted by Vietnamese artisans. The bark-on trunk is sourced from sustainably harvested trees and selected by hand for bark integrity, branch placement, and overall form. Both caps are turned and carved individually. Every gill line is cut by hand. No molds. No CNC machines. No two lamps will ever look the same.

Care & Maintenance

Furniture Placement

Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.

Cleaning & Upkeep

Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.

Weight Capacity & Use

Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.

Preventing Mold & Mildew

Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.
