Description

A wide conical cap spreads outward like an open umbrella above a straight cylinder stem. The proportions are deliberate: the cap extends well beyond the stem on every side, creating a broad shadow on the surface below. A prominent natural knot sits on the stem like an eye staring back at you. The whole piece stands on a turned disc base, and every surface is polished smooth in the same golden honey tone.

Wide Conical Cap

The cap is shaped as a low, broad cone rather than a rounded dome. It rises from a thin, sharp brim to a gentle peak at the center. The angle is shallow, roughly 20 degrees from horizontal, so the cap reads as wide and flat rather than tall and round. This shape catches overhead light across its full surface and creates a large circular shadow underneath. The wood grain sweeps across the cone in long, flowing arcs that change direction at the peak.

Straight Cylinder Stem with Natural Knot

The stem is a clean vertical cylinder, wider than you might expect, with no taper or bulge. It stands straight from the disc base to the underside of the cap. A natural knot sits prominently on the stem face, surrounded by swirling grain that flows around it like water around a river stone. The knot is not hidden or filled. It is sanded flush with the surface and sealed with the same oil finish, making it a focal point rather than a flaw.

Turned Disc Base

The base is a flat, round disc slightly wider than the stem diameter. It is turned from the same wood to match the cap and stem in color and grain direction. The disc is thick enough to provide stable weight at the bottom, keeping the sculpture upright without feeling heavy.

Specifications

Material: Solid wood, hand-turned from a single block
Cap: Wide conical shape, polished, flowing grain
Stem: Straight cylinder with natural knot feature
Base: Turned disc, same wood tone
Finish: Natural oil, non-toxic, warm golden satin
Base bottom: Flat for stable freestanding placement

Placement

Works on a coffee table, fireplace mantel, bookshelf, dining sideboard, entryway console, bathroom vanity, or home office desk. The clean lines and warm tone suit minimalist, Scandinavian, Japandi, mid-century, and cottagecore interiors.

Care

Wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Reapply wood oil once a year. The golden tone deepens naturally with age. Avoid direct sunlight and excessive moisture.

Handcrafted by Vietnamese artisans. Every surface is turned on a lathe and finished by hand. No molds. No CNC machines. No two sculptures share the same grain or knot placement.

Care & Maintenance

Furniture Placement

Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.

Cleaning & Upkeep

Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.

Weight Capacity & Use

Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.

Preventing Mold & Mildew

Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.
